Whom We Serve

Horse Tales Literacy Project seeks to serve the children of the United States with reading programs based on Walter Farley’s and other classic horse books using the natural connection between children and horses.

The Project provides Reading Programs implemented in:

1. Elementary Schools, which combine experiences with live horses with classic horse books, currently by Walter Farley:

Grade 1: Little Black, A Pony and Little Black Goes to the Circus

Grade 4: The Black Stallion).

2. After School and Summer Camp Programs, which integrate HTLP reading program curricula, materials and activities. These programs offer educational and fun reading and learning opportunities and exciting experiences with live horses, meeting the needs of children in grades K - 6 in those settings.

Those needing special assistance should contact us prior to the event so the necessary accommodations may be provided.
